3D PRODUCTION-GAME ART- DEGREE ORIENTED

Objective:

The "Game Artist" training allows the student to acquire artistic and technical skills to design and create a 3D video game related to a story and gameplay, in collaboration with video game developers.

At the end of this training cycle, the student is required to produce their Demoreel and present it, along with the video game developed in a team, before a professional jury.

This hybrid program combines evening online classes with in-person classes on weekends, leading to an approved BTS or BTP, with international certification.

Prerequisites:

  • With or Without High School Diploma


Certificates:

 

Upon successfully completing all assessments, the student will obtain an approved BTS or BTP based on their access level and will have the opportunity to take an international certification exam.

1st YEAR

  • Pre-production file development on a theme/project
  • Sketch production workshop for project-related environment and character

    2nd YEAR

    1/ CULTURE AND CAREERS IN VIDEO GAMES:


  • Overview of the video game industry
  • Understanding different video game professions

2/ PRE-PRODUCTION:


  • Game Design
  • Development of a pre-production file including:
      • Sources of inspiration and references

      • Decor/Level design Boards

      • Character Boards

      • Gameplay description


3/ ADVANCED 3D:

  • Advanced modeling techniques in 3DS Max.
  • Digital sculpting of characters
  • Optimization of 3D Models for video games (Medium and LowPoly)
  • Creation and painting of textures

    4/ ANIMATION FOR VIDEO GAMES:

  • Understanding the basics of animation.
  • Learning to Rig and Skin.
  • Learning to animate a character.

    5/ REAL-TIME ENGINE:


  • Understanding the philosophy of a real-time engine.
  • Getting familiar with the Engine's interface
  • Understanding the constraints of exporting 3D models.
  • Learning to integrate 3D models.
  • Real-time rendering: Lighting, materials, textures, visual and sound effects.

INTERNSHIP AND END-OF-COURSE PROJECT

The student is required to complete a 3-month professional internship and create a professional portfolio that highlights their skills for entry into the job market.
